Roman Weindl

Mediator in Bavaria

"As a cultural mediator, I spend most of my time explaining complex scientific issues to people. With the New Patrons, on the other hand, I am challenged as a mediator to focus on the wishes, ideas and also the knowledge of the citizens. This method opens up completely new possibilities for anchoring artistic and cultural practice, especially for rural areas."

Roman Weindl studied archaeology and ethnology at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg. He then completed his doctorate at the University of Passau with a thesis on the aura of the original in the historical museum. Since 2019, he has been the director of the Museum Quintana – Archaeology in Künzing. On the side, he works as a freelance cultural mediator.
