Anna Wiese
Mediator in Neubrandenburg in tandem with Alina Kokoschka
“What makes for good coexistence in communities? Finding that out is one of my main motivations in mediation. Working with citizens' groups unearths stories and impulses that should definitely be heard. I feel great curiosity in using the New Patrons method to link the exchange of knowledge with artistic engagement.”
Anna Wiese is a media and cultural scholar. In her studies, she explored artistic perspectives on climate change and ocean acoustics. This interest in interdisciplinary approaches also shapes her professional practice: she has worked in project development and cultural mediation, including for museum4punkt0, where she developed digital formats using AR and VR technologies. Within the funding program Kirchturmdenken, she supported the cultural opening of sacred buildings as part of our shared cultural heritage. She gained a comprehensive understanding of artistic practice and institutional processes through her work in galleries (neugerriemschneider), institutions (Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Kulturprojekte Berlin), and artists’ studios (Tomás Saraceno, Leiko Ikemura). She is currently employed at the Berlin Senate Department for Culture. Anna Wiese is a member of the Association for Citizen-Commissioned Art and Mediation.
